this and that

i know what you are thinking... "i didn't realize lisa had such superior sewing skills" well now that you know don't go asking me to make you anything i'm booked out for months.
this little number is fuzzy soft zebra fabric sewn into a square(i use that term loosely) and stuffed with a LOUD sunchips bag. {there is no sneaking any of those chips for a midnight snack} but gabe loves his new little creation.
I know, I know, i'm soooo clever!

Saturday was the annual University of Utah young alumni 5K run/walk/crawl...what ever you have to do to finish. this bad boy was mostly up hill and pushing the BOB didn't make it any easier. but we finished and we'll do it again next year.

sunday dinner at my house was spaghetti, salad and delicious home made tuscan italian bread, and instead of doing the dishes i decided i would buy a disposable plastic table cloth and we could put our food right on the table. it was so much fun. i think ill do this for every meal. ;o)

3...Yippy!!

3 months that is...
i can not believe how much he has grown.
i want to freeze him in time at every
milestone. the picture below is when he is about
a week old, he still has his umbilical cord attached. now look at him, sitting up, looking annoyed that i keep taking his picture. oh how time flies. :)

gabe went to his first of many Utah football games last saturday. even though he spent almost the entire game asleep under my seat i'm sure he loved it.............................. i could just tell. ;)

stats and pics for the little chunker!

so gabers had his 2 month appointment today, even though he is officially 11 weeks and 1 day. closer to 3 months. but who's counting?
*
Weight: 15.10 (95%) * Height: 24 1/2 inches (90%) * Head: 16 inches (50%)
*
yeah he's ginormous, but since he was bread to play linebacker for the university of utah i figure he's doing pretty good. ;)

what does gabe love?
*******************
*his bumbo, he laughs and smiles the whole time he is in it.
*sleeping on a mound of pillows. he'll do it for hours.
*sleeping on our chest, he is so cuddly. i love it.
*"tummy time" he is getting so strong.
*watching football with dad!
* bath time, he loves splashing himself and mom.
* sleeping (have i mentioned that before?)
* and if you cant tell..... the kid loves to eat (i wont put a picture of that on here don't worry..haha)

jogging is over-rated!

last week i went on a jog, with gabe and BOB(bob is our jogging stroller)
i was about a mile into the walk/jog with more walking then jogging on this particular day,
and the tears started flowing, and i mean freely people.
i was full on running and crying.
let me tell you why...
running is so much harder then it was 9 months ago,
my hips ache, my knees ache my pelvic bones ache.
i know i had a baby 8 short weeks ago,
but i had 30 years of running before that.
it felt like surly i would never be able to run again
like i used to.
but alas today i went on a 3 mile
walk/jog
and although again there was probably more walking then jogging.
there was no tears.
*
so to all of you mama's out there who get back in shape
after your babies, i salute you.
i hate you. but i salute you.

what a difference a day makes.....

....... ok i mean two months, but it feels like "only yesterday" ;-)

..............one week old......................today............................one week.......................today.................

two months this little "superman" has been in our lives and it's amazing how time FLIES!!! he is getting SOOO BIG and by big i mean: chunk-a-rama!!! i know you don't need to protect my feelings. he is a chubbers!! and i LOVE every last roll and dimple. :)

what have i learned in the last 2 months... i don't think there is enough space in cyberworld to post it all but i'll try to condense my list.
*i really don't NEED 8 hours of sleep to function.
*i'm not right handed i'm one handed.
*a smile really can melt your heart. (i have yet to capture one on camera, but he can do it...i promise)
*3 AM really does happen. all these years i've just thought it was a rumor.
* moving him to his own room was harder then i thought it would be.
* Love is just not a strong enough word!!!

8 is GREAT.............

8 = the number of hours Gabe slept last night. Thank you my dear little man for the 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep i was able to get. i feel like a new woman!
8/8 = the day that we blessed Gabe. Arron did such a fantastic job, i'm so lucky to have 2 such amazing guys.

i wish this wasn't the best picture i had of him in his little tux, but unfortunately it is. i could NOT get him to hold still when i was trying to get some good shots. i guess i'll have to try again another day. :(

This is NOT GOOD for so many reasons! Keebler now makes this Delicious "girl scout" cookie knock off YEAR ROUND people. i saw this package sitting innocently on the store shelf and about peed my pants! i'm in serious caloric intake trouble!
And now i don't have the excuse of pregnancy for the extra weight! :(

BEAR LAKE 2010

bear lake was a little different this year with baby in tow. however it was such a blast to be able to share this place with him that we love so much! {not that he'll remember, but we will}

A week of "firsts" for gabe......... first time at the cabin, first boat ride, first camp fire, first four wheeler ride, first time in the freezing water of bear lake (he didnt love that), first time spending a week with all of his cousins, first time wearing a life jacket(he didnt love that either but as soon as the boat started he was snoozin! first time to church and first time layin on the beach in his own personal cabana.
We love you gabe and cant wait to experience many more firsts!!!!
p.s. mom and dad had fun too wakeboarding, laying out, reading, getting glitter toes, and just chillaxing!
