Funnel Cakes

i titled this post FUNNEL CAKES because really that is the most important part of a fair.
however i snarfed mine down so fast that taking a picture slipped my mind.
but i still have to give credit where credit is due and that means
recognizing and paying respects to the funnel cake.
{although people watching is a close second!}

oh right, and the kids love it!.

and where else can you find a sexy tractor display?
although i have a hard time believing that these beauties have ever spent a long day in the fields harvesting anything.

or maybe you'll find 2 young gentlemen playing with their peters...
perter pans that is.
{ whoa, what did you think i meant? }

 and if you're a dude and you have a peter pan doll that you tote everywhere
you may or may not be brave enough to go INSIDE the petting zoo.
but there is no judgement here.
because by darn you are brave enough to go on the crazy high adrenaline type rides
like the merry-go-round!

Thank you county fair for the excitement, self confidence boost and of course...
the funnel cake!
see you next year!

bear lake 2013: take 2

so i'm pretty sure if i didnt lead with this picture of arron aka iron man,
he would never allow me to do another post again.
* the fly board *
in his words: "babe, i did something epic today"
my reply: "oh you're growing a tiny human inside your body too?"
do i sound a little jealous that i miss out on ALL of the awesome stuff when pregnant?
maybe just a little.
but if i'm being honest, it was pretty epic!
however, i've always known he was iron man...aaaawe!

and i'm not the only one who thinks so.
 im pretty sure that gabe believed his daddy-o could walk on water even before he put on the jet pack.
their conversations go something like this.
gabe: daddy what chu doing?
arron: (insert anything here and i mean anything.)
gabe: wait for me, i'm coming with you.

iron men in training..
some of my family are big huge show offs, and go and exercise in the morning before all of the boating and eating and relaxing begins. which just makes a pregnant woman 7 months along feel even more stellar about throwing on a swim suit!
but gabe was right there with them, getting even stronger then he already is...just ask him.

now the little people know how to do it up right.
they just play in the sand and let it all hang out with no cares in the world.
no insecurities about their gut hanging over their waist band.
they own it and are proud of it.
{ somehow this still doesn't make me want to post a swim suit picture myself }

after about 36,572 times asking to come to bear lake with us
the stars finally alined and tj, chelsey and ivy were able to come this year.
it was fun to share one of our favorite places on earth with them.

and what vaca would be complete without sand in every last crack and crevasse?
 according to gabe...... you may as well have not come at all.

aaaaaand que bath time
in hopes that the beach wont be smuggled home
in drug cartel fashion.

there is games and relaxing and reading and movie watching and just enjoying being with family
removed from the normal busy routine.

and then it comes to an end and you have to go home, and go to work and do laundry and clean and cook every meal again, and you consider throwing yourself into that crystal blue lake with an anchor tied around your waist.....
 but then you couldn't come back next year, so you reconsider.... phew!

these are my people!

a routine is a necessity around here
the 3 year old understands and depends on it, try and deviate
and that is something he DOES NOT understand.
an 8:00 morning walk for "ekersize"  {how he is getting exercise i'm not sure but pushing around 70+ pounds of little boy in a double stroller is definitely "ekersize"for me right now, even if it is only 2 miles}

followed by play time on the playground before 9 am.
this is the only way the play set gets much use in this blistering heat.
and of course this all happens in their pj's with no shoes,
this has also become part of the routine somehow.

then breakfast and story time and nap time for the middle little.
{ we are now counting belly baby as the littlest little }
and oh how gabe loves macs naps because he gets to play with all of his wittle toys.
the toys that are perfect choking size for a curious 1 year old who feels the only way to truly experience anything is by tasting it.
and why, i ask you, should you need clothes for any of this?
apparently the mid morning schedule calls for undies only.... for those 3 and under.

Then mac wakes up and its brother time and bonding time and story time and lunch time and tv time and puzzle time and we usually fit some time out time in there, then nap time again, and waiting for daddy to get home time that feels like it drags on and on, and you get the point.
we have a full schedule!
ran by a 3 year old and his 1 year old wing man.
i'm not sure how it happened
 (and by not sure i mean it happened at the conception of "the gabe" as he likes to call himself these days)
but my minutes, hours and days are booked with two, soon to be three little dudes under 4 feet tall.
so if you'd like to get together have your people call my people
and hopefully they will fit you in!!!

a day in the life....

 oh how would it be to wake up and not know what the day had in store but you knew it was going to be an adventure.
Cuz i swear these kids should pop open their little baby blues in the morning and think
"man, life is good, i wonder whats on the agenda today"
 if its windy maybe nana and papa will show up randomly and fly a kite with me even though i let a tree eat the last kite they let me fly.

 or maybe we can go to the "new pool" and have a BBQ at the park, eat grape snow cones and then splash and swim till way past our bed time.

perhaps we should head to the "fountain park", go the candy store, play on the "big slide" and dance to  the loud songs that are perfectly choreographed to water like we are at our own private Las Vegas bellagio show.
but if that all doesn't pan out,
i guess we can stay home and play with our bazillion friends that live not two seconds away
on our very own park right in the back yard and swing "so so so so high" that we can kick the clouds and the sun.

or race around the circle on our four wheelers and chase the cats and play pirates and and and and......
....and after a long hard day, we will have to have a popsicle of course.
or a chocolate shake!
before we settle in for the night with our best friend, who just happens to live here,
cuz he's my brother. ..... life is hard!
