just go with it

  mac is almost 2 months old and here i am posting his 2 week pics and 1 month pics!
COULD I BE ANYMORE BEHIND!?
{ AND I DONT JUST MEAN IN BLOGGING, PRETTY MUCH LIFE IN GENERAL }
 let me just say that 2 kids has thrown me for a loop. it is so much harder then i anticipated,
i'm not sure what i expected but in my carefully planned out scenario, it was not this!
i had my nook loaded with books to read while i nursed this little bundle O love.
instead i'm playing defense for the little guys life while his BIG brother feels the need to show off his tackling skills during feeding time.
 or picks that EXACT moment to be so deathly thirsty he may just shrivel up and die if i dont get him "mo" chocolate milk right that second.

so no it hasn't been unicorns and daisies but there has been some sort of magic involved cuz both boys are still alive!

Here is proof of life from Mac's first month.
Enjoy!
FIRST BATH AT HOME

 Mac loves his daddy
 Gabe on the left and Mac on the right after their first baths at home

Mac and cousin Ivy,
 yeah she is 3 months older then him but i dont think he knows that
since he is almost the same size.

2 Week Check-Up
weight: 7lbs 12 oz {50%}
length: 20 inches  {50%}
(apparently he has shrunk an inch or had a 1 inch cone head??)

 uncle austin* and mac
**good with babies and single ladies....haha

i have a feeling this mouse is saying
"pssssst, mac, your parents have no idea what they are doing, just a heads up."

 So after a month of being the ring leader for our little circus,
i'm learning to just slow down and enjoy the little things,
like how good it feels to pass gas.....
hey dont judge, look how happy and relaxed he looks
i think babies might be on to something.

just go with it!

Be More

You know that feeling when you wake up in the morning completely rested and ready to start your day?
ya... me neither!

i know it has happened before,
however it hasn't been in the past 2 years.
and i'm pretty sure it probably wont happen for a good 10-15 more, maybe longer.

however, despite the fact that sleep has eluded me,
 i'm required to do more, love more, smile more, fix more, help more
teach more, think more and be more.

then go to bed at night
wake up, 2-3-4 times before the sun comes up,

... and "be more" again!

when you go thru the first 8 years of marriage without kids,
you accidentally become very, for lack of a better word, selfish my friends.

and then you go and bring one or two more little humans into the mix and the reality is
there is no room for you in your own life anymore.
and i'd like to say that it's completely ok, but the truth is you miss "me time" you miss going to a movie on a whim, or deciding to go to the grocery store, make a list, get a whole basket full of groceries and be back home watching the latest episode of the bachelor all in about 2 hours.
instead, you barely get out the door in 2 hours and you're lucky if you remembered to brush your teeth.

Yes, i miss me time, maybe thats not something moms should say out loud, maybe i shouldn't let on that sometimes i don't want to "be more", i just want to be me.

but then something like your big babe, snuggles up to the little babe and wants to give him a butterfly kiss, or wants to share his prized blankie with his little brother.
and you know how very important that blankie is and if he is willing to share that,
well then you better take a note out of your 2 year olds book,
and step up your game.

so you can sleep more later
because today you have to "be more".
and "being more" just so happens to be what you've always dreamed of.
