"Goon"

* Lagoon 2012 *

As you can see, we are playing summer catch up on the old bliggity blog, but thats how it goes with a two year old that doesn't stop!
you click in to survival mode and hang on for the ride.
{ did you like that "ride" reference, seeing as the subject is lagoon?  yes i'm very clever }

Merry-go-round is not yet in gabes repertoire of words, so the hand gesture "round and round" come in to play as he yells "up-down-up-down"and you should know immediately that he is talking about riding the horse at "goon" and he LOVED IT!!

"CHO CHO, CHO CHO"
can gabe say train, yes! is it a lot more fun to yell CHO CHO when talking about a train? apparently.
another one of gabes favorites!

What was NOT one of gabes favorite things...Puff the magic dragon!
all smiles before the ride. However, as soon as the ride came to a complete stop
and before the lap bar was up or seat belt was undone, he wriggled his way out and on to the platform
yeah that makes a mama feel real great about putting her 2 year old alone on a roller coaster he can climb out of at will!!

 { there were a few tears and the level of bravery dropped a few notches }

so for gabe, the rest of the night was spent on the safety of the little kiddy rides or daddies shoulders.
and we will still chalk up his first trip to 'goon' as a success.

"have you seen or touched any monkeys?"

i hadn't been to the zoo in over 10 years, i was so excited to go and take MY little monkey.

 even though i swear half the zoo was closed for remodeling and the train is out of commission until 2014..what!!
Gabe didnt care or realize what he was missing out on, he was focused on all the things that were open. and LOVING it!!
 man i wish i were more like that, not worried about what i was getting gypped on and just appreciating what i had right in front of me!
i should probably keep working on that one.

he's getting so big so fast and FINALLY talking a mile a minute.
now every time i ask him what he wants to do he says
"daddy, mamma, nanna, zoo"

he is getting to be such a goof ball as his personality gets bigger everyday.
 if thats even possible, because honestly this kid cracks me up, he is a non stop circus.
here he is pretending to be a gorilla.
seriously, where does he come up with this stuff.

 but it never ceases to amaze me how loving he is. he still loves to give everyone and everything hugs and kisses. no lie, he sometimes hugs and kisses his gummy bears before he eats them. he looks at them and says "mama, teddy awwwe" kisses and holds it up to his cheek to give it a hug and then throws it in his mouth and gobbles it up.

his fear O' meter is all over the map.
he was TERRIFIED of the merry go round the first time he rode on it, i had to basically hold him down till he realized he wasn't gonna die.
{now its all he talks about}
but he will climb up on top of anything and try to jump off with no regard for his safety or his breakable bones.
he thought the bear that could tear him limb from limb was "coooo" and he
wanted to give the elephant a hug.

gabe is grandkid #1 on my side and that means nana cant miss out on any of his firsts, she is always tagging along, we cant seem to get rid of her. haha, its a good thing we don't want to.
gabe loves his nana!!!

he is such a cool little dude and i'm so glad we get to experience all these firsts with him, and see his face light up in complete awe at all this world has to offer.
he loves to learn and explore and do new things and while he still likes to do all of that with mom and dad i'm gonna eat it up.

 just a side note.. we didnt realize or plan to all wear UofU shirts, thats just how awesome we are!!!
 ha ha
 and thanks to grandma marsha for watching the little dude so we could take gabers out for some alone time without having to share mom and dad.

BLESSED!

We blessed this little bundle-O-love on sept 30th.

excuse me while i reflect on the fact that i've wanted my whole life to have moments like this..
i would never claim my life is perfect by any stretch.
but its at times like this:
 when family and friends show up in love and support,
when your husband gives your littlest one a blessing and cries because the spirit is real!
when you realize that despite all your flaws for some reason this is your life and you don't know how you got so gosh darn lucky.
its times like this that it feels perfect.
even if just for one day.

i'm so thankful for a Heavenly Father who would bless ME with all of this.
even when things are NOT perfect its my own little piece of Heaven.

So, to all of my family and friends, young and old, you are what makes life worth living. you make the hard moments in life bearable and the sweet moments even sweeter. you make me realize what it means to be truly blessed and you give a face to happiness. you make me so proud to introduce two boys into a family that will care for them and love them unconditionally. you make me want to be a better mom, wife, friend, sister, aunt, grand-daughter and daughter.
 So thank you for making life feel a little bit closer to perfect!
i love you all.

is there anything...?

 is there anything more depressing then how fast your kids grow up.
and how long each day seems all at the same time?
this is mac at 2 months and 3 months.
what the, what!!
its going bye WAY WAY too fast!!

is there anything more ridiculous then the technology capabilities of a 2 year old.
i find it somewhat disturbing that he can unlock my phone, go to his little section of games, click on the app and start playing or find and scroll through the 100s of pictures on my phone and play a video when he comes across one.
i guess really there is no one else to blame but myself, since i am the one thats let him play with my phone.
 regardless.... its still a bit ridiculous!

 is there anything more awesome then cousins?
some of my best memories were made with my cousins and i know its not gonna be any different for my little guys, they are the youngest of the bunch on arrons side and the oldest of the bunch on my side so either way they are surrounded by awesomeness!

is there anything sweeter then the love of a great-grandma.
this is my sweet grandma , she is crazy in love with my boys.
she is like some sort of baby whisperer and can calm a crying babe pretty much instantly.
i am so grateful that she is able to be part of their lives, and mine.

 is there anything better then how easily entertained a two year old is?
gabe stacked those paper towels up and knocked them over for a good hour. he was cracking himself up...and me for that matter.
thank you costco!
 and bubbles, come on people, is this not the most hated and loved invention of all time. hated because "bubbos" are messy, but loved because they NEVER get tired of them.  hated because... they NEVER get tired of them. and loved because they are a great bribery tool.
i could go on, but i wont.

 is there anything more adorable then babies in PJ's?
or watching a big brother fall completely in love with his little brother?
i cant help but smile seeing the pure joy on gabes face, he loves mac so much. i worried that gabe might try to throw mac down the stairs {like he did my dyson vacuum and really anything else he can pick up} when he realized after a few weeks that little macadoo wasn't going anywhere, but it has been just the opposite. he adores him. he wants to kiss him and hug him and pat him and feed him and share EVERYTHING with him. he wont go to bed at night without giving baby a kiss and then insisting that mom and dad give baby a kiss too.
he is such a little lover!
I cant get enough of either of them, cuz really....
there is nothing better then being a mom!

shoop ba-doop

"here i go, here i go, here i go again, girls whats my weakness? Men
Okay then
chillin', chillin', mindin' my business......"

since anybody who's anybody should be able to finish the rest of this song, i'll stop there!
{ if you can't you missed out on a very important part of pop culture in the 90's }

meet gabe and his best buddy wes.
i know, i know, i've posted gazillions of pictures of these to little monkeys but,
"here i go, here i go, here i go again"
{haha i'm funny}

this is gabe at 1 month and wes at 4 months.
the color difference, not so prominent at that point in time.

But now...
 you know why a classic hit like SHOOP by "salt n pepa" might come to mind when posting pics of these two little dudes.

 They could not be more different and yet still BFF's.
and i'm not talking about their skin color.
wes is the cleanest kid i have ever met and well, you've all seen the pictures of gabe.
he still doesn't understand that ketchup is not a hair styling product.

It has been one of my favorite things to watch these two grow up together. They have gone from no interaction to parallel play and now they full on have conversations in gibberish, incorporating some actual words at times.
They fight and then laugh at each other.
 They share popcorn and crayons, two of the most important things in life wouldn't you say.
and they share a lot of firsts together.

Gabes first Movie was Rio.
 he did a good job for the most part, until the TUB of popcorn ran out and his 32oz sprite was sucked bone dry. (i know, mother of the year)
then he got a bit too antsy and we had to ditch out 20 minutes early so as not to disturb the other paying customers.

 i wish life was always as easy as two little two year olds make it seem.
fight, get over it, move on.
there are way too many fun times to be had to get hung up on the little things.

Gabes first sleep over.
let me just say these pictures are going to be priceless when he is of dating age and trying to push the limits of his 8:00 curfew or acting like he knows more then his wise mama. i will use these as blackmail until he is 30 and gets married and moves out of my house.
i will have these at my fingertips at all times ready to whip out if he tries to move away from me too early!
because, to quote the wise woman self named "pepa"
"this boy is my weakness"
"shoop shoop ba-doop"
